About the plant

Rocket has slightly peppery leaves, great in salads and on pizzas. It grows fast and can be harvested in about a month. It does well in window boxes and shallow pots.

Origin

Native to the Mediterranean region, in open, sunny fields.

What it likes

  • Lots of light, with sun
  • Compost that is always moist
  • Frequent picking

What it dislikes

  • Intense heat
  • Dry compost
  • Aphids

Did you know?

In hot weather, rocket bolts quickly and the leaves become more peppery; the flowers are edible too.
